Product-claim image review: a final checklist before publishing

By Sellfold · Reviewed August 15, 2026 · Educational guidance

Review a product image as if a buyer will make a decision from it alone. Confirm that the product, variant, included items, visible feature claims, price or offer and use context all match reliable product information. Remove or correct anything the buyer could reasonably interpret as a promise you cannot substantiate.

Check identity and inclusions

Compare the image to the exact product listing, packaging and fulfilment contents. Look for a wrong colour, finish, size, bundle component or accessory that could change a buyer’s expectation.

Check visible and implied claims

Text, icons, badges and scenes can all imply a result. Ask what the image suggests about material, performance, safety, compatibility, durability or outcome, then confirm that your product evidence supports that interpretation.

Check offers at the same time

A discount, price, delivery condition or bonus should match the live destination and include any essential qualification. Remove stale offer-led images rather than relying on a later caption to fix them.

Assign an accountable final reviewer

Generation, design and export are not publication approval. Give one person responsibility for reviewing the finished asset against the product record and current destination rules before upload.

Questions sellers ask

Is a disclaimer enough to fix a misleading image?

Usually not. The image itself should not create an inaccurate expectation that the disclaimer cannot reasonably correct.

Who should approve final assets?

The seller or an authorised reviewer who knows the product facts, current offer and destination requirements.

Does Sellfold perform legal or platform approval?

No. It provides downloadable static assets and copy. Final claim, policy and legal review remains with the seller.
